Why WoW?

I have always enjoyed gaming: playing video games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, jumping and running with Mario or delving into the worlds of Elder Scrolls, Spellforce, and others.

The first MMORPG I loved was City of Heroes (CoH) which let me be a super hero. I gave other MMOs a try, too, like Star Wars Galaxies.

At one point in my life I stopped gaming completely. There was no more room for it. I had other things to do and I also had the impression it was time to “grow up”, to do more “mature” things. Still, I always missed gaming, if only a little.

Then they offered Oblivion on sale and I couldn’t resist. I was hooked again. No, it didn’t grow into an addiction, I would only play once or twice a week, then once or twice a month.

A little later, years after having abandoned Paragon City, I decided to check out CoH again – only to discover that it had ceased to exist.

At about the same time, I found out that it is possible to check out World of Warcraft for free, and I did. It took me a while to get used to it and I felt (and still feel) very old and like a bloody beginner who has never played an MMO before. But I stayed persistent and didn’t allow occasional bullying to keep me away from WoW.

What finally saved me was finding a guild, a small one with only a handful of other players. They’re very cool and friendly people, always polite and very helpful. They taught me most of what I know about WoW and never ran out of patience although I bombarded them with questions.

What’s your story? Do you enjoy MMOs and/or gaming in general?

What is this blog about?

Last night, I couldn’t sleep. It was the night from Sunday to Monday and I lay awake for hours. I started thinking about my blogs – and this one in particular.

What I wanted this blog to be about

When I started this blog, I wanted it to be about the things I love and stuff important to me, namely

- books
- scifi and fantasy stuff
- gothic / alternative fashion and lifestyle
- corporate life
- rpgs

What this blog is / used to be about

When actually writing posts for this blog, I soon found myself blogging mostly about fashion and lifestyle. Most articles fall under one or more of the following categories:

- gothic
- steampunk
- alternative
- fashion
- corpgoth
- depression

What I want this blog to be about from now on

This blog lay dormant for way too long. I would love to revive it once again. This time, I want the posts to be more ecclectic, to be about all or most of my interests.
I do not feel like blogging too much about fashion right now, so for starters I will probably write about books and gaming. I will take it one step at a time from now on.

What would you like to read about?

Additionally, I would love to hear from you. Yes, you!
What would you like to read about? Which topics could help me getting back to blogging regularly? Is there anything you would like to know about me or the reasons I was absent for so long?

Still Here

Hello everybody,

I know, I have been very quiet here. I didn’t feel like writing about fashion and lifestyle because I was trying to get better, healthier, and fitter. Well, I don’t feel fitter or healthier, but at least I’ve dropped some weight.

Last weekend, I started playing WoW. I never wanted to play before but since I was a gamer once (ans loved it) I thought, what the heck, let’s finally try it! ;)

I haven’t been playing daily (which is good; I’m not addicted yet^^) but I’ve really enjoyed checking Azeroth out. Is anybody else playing?

Hope you’re all well? What have you been up to?
